seattle, washington: view from the tower

seattle, washington: view from the tower

I’ve learned this, at least, by my experiment; that if one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours. He will put some things behind, will pass an invisible boundary; new, universal, and more liberal laws will begin to establish themselves around and within him; or the old laws be expanded, and interpreted in his favor in a more liberal sense, and he will live with the license of a higher order of beings. In proportion as he simplifies his life, the laws of the universe will appear less complex, and solitude will not be solitude, nor poverty poverty, nor weakness weakness. If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them. -henry david thoreau

Another cool shot with an apt quote. I have found these words to be true in my own life, when I dared to live by them. Printed out and put where I can see it!

I think I’d be tempted to call this one “Expanded Horizons”.

hi havi — hi everyone — thanks so much — glad you liked this one. I think it’s one of my favorites from the set to date — something about those extra 300’ just makes the whole city look more magical somehow. ;)

When I first started dating my husband he lived on Bainbridge Island, with a beautiful view of Seattle, and the ferry boats coming in. I’d wake up at some insane time, like 5am, to take the ferry back to Seattle and get to work in Bellevue in time. That silent ride back to the city, with the sun coming up was such a serene time for me…. anyways, this reminds me of that.

I third the sigh. I’ve only visited Seattle twice (my aunt and uncle live in Ballard), but I have such a huge love for that city. Hopefully in a couple of years I can transfer to U of Washington and live there.

Love the blue tone and the amazing view!
